Glass Mixing Discs

Glass mixing discs mix paint/coatings by shaking them vigorously inside a closed bottle. Many products will have multiple components that can separate over time and settle to the bottom of the bottle. If you plan on distributing the product into smaller bottles (e.g., splitting one quart of 310 White Blend into eight 4oz bottles), you should add these discs. The discs will help ensure all the components are thoroughly and evenly mixed. No sediment or residue can be left at the bottom. This is especially true of products that contain pigments, such as the 100 Series, 200 Series, 300 Series, and 400 Series. If the pigment is not entirely and evenly mixed, the color will not be the correct hue and saturation.

The discs are essential to ensure quality when using our coatings, blends, and pigments.

Recommended minimum amounts of discs are as follows:

Clear Coats: 4oz, 8oz, and 16oz – 5 Discs

Clear Coats: 32oz, 64oz, and 128oz – 7 Discs

200, 300, and 400 Series: 4oz, 8oz, and 16oz – 5 Discs

200, 300, and 400 Series: 32oz, 64oz, and 128oz – 7 Discs

100 Series C-Pigments: 4oz – 5 Discs

100 Series C-Pigments: 8oz, 16oz, and 32oz – 7 Discs

(Note: For 100 Series C-Pigments, we highly recommend you add at least three metal mixing discs to these bottles. C-Pigments settle quickly and leave a cumbersome layer of sediment that must be mixed thoroughly. Smaller discs that can fit between the glass ones will make this easier. The more discs, the easier to mix these products thoroughly. The amounts listed above are minimums, but adding more marbles will not cause any harm. All products purchased from us that require mixing will always have the minimum recommended amount of marbles, but you are welcome to add more if you’d like.)
