Premium Topcoats
Our Premium Topcoats are made from a unique blend of resins and components designed for maximum performance on automotive and furniture leather & vinyl. While these topcoats are a ready-to-spray system, however, we do recommend that you use either #611 or #612 crosslinker for maximum performance. This will add chemical resistance and physical strength to these coatings that will help to ensure that they perform at their peak for as long as possible. Not crosslinking can result in the potential failure of these products under certain circumstances. Pigments can also be added to add color.
To add pigments, we strongly advise using our 90/10 ratio to get the best performance. That is 9 parts clear coat to 1 part pigment. For example, to make 100 grams of Satin Red Oxide you would mix 10 grams of #150 Red Oxide pigment with 90 grams of #050 Satin Topcoat. Adding more than 10% pigment to the mixture can result in a potential failure, such as cracking of the final coating. Be sure that all of the components have been mixed and stirred thoroughly. The more dull and matte the coating is, the more stirring it will require. Our Aluminum and rubber tipped stir rods work excellently for this.
SUPER MATTE
This is an extremely matte topcoat and provides little to no gloss.
DULL
This topcoat provides a dull luster to the finish. Not as dull as Super Matte but still has very little gloss.
EGGSHELL
Eggshell permits a small amount of gloss to show through an otherwise matte finish.
SATIN
This is our most popular topcoat, providing an excellent mixture of both dull and bright topcoats to give off a subtle gloss.
SEMI BRIGHT
Semi Bright topcoat is verily more glossy than Satin, but not by a significant margin.
BRIGHT
This topcoat has a high gloss and has hardly any matte properties.
PATENT LEATHER GLOSS
PLG is our brightest topcoat that provides the most gloss possible. Extremely glossy, wet-look.
